Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. Hazel will be laid to rest with her husband immediately following the funeral services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Surry County on January 1, 1927 to the late William and Pearl Midkiff, Hazel was a graduate of Jamestown High School and also attended Liberty University. She was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church for many years and retired from ARA Food Services after over 30 years of employment as the Commissary Manager. Hazel enjoyed reading, needlepoint, growing beautiful flowers, but most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Fred J. Perry; a grandson, Gary Brogan; and her three siblings, Alma Davenport, Herman Midkiff and Marvin Midkiff.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Brenda Oliver, Debbie Brown (Bob) and Randall Perry; grandchildren, Joey Zimmerman, David Brogan, Lindy Stevens, and Justin Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.
