Hazel Hutchens Roberts, 90, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Hospice Home of High Point. She was born December 5, 1933 in Surry County, the daughter of William A. Hutchens, Sr. and Pearlie Lane Hutchens.
Hazel worked for Blue Bell and later for Bristol-Myers. She was a life-long member of Grace Baptist Church. Hazel had the honor of being baptized in the River Jordan.
She was married to Edward “Bud” Roberts who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and nine of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter; Carol Roberts McHenry and husband Jerry of Archdale; her son, Benny Roberts and wife Cindy of Climax; her sister; Barbara Hutchens Fox of Whitsett; sister-in-law, Anne Hutchins of Colfax; four grandchildren, Greg Payne of Kernersville, Meaghan Widenhouse of Archdale, Nicholas “Nick” Roberts and wife Tiffany of Greensboro, Timmy Roberts and wife Lindsay of Climax; three great grandchildren, Asher, Bailee and Allie Roberts; Hazel’s loving granddog, “Loki” and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend J.R. Gossett. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 pm. until service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Henry, Jerry McHenry, Greg Payne, Tim Roberts, Nick Roberts and Ronnie Hutchens.
