
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Twin Lakes Memory Care Chapel in Burlington. A private interment will be held at Westminster Gardens Mausoleum.
Ella was born in Akron, OH on November 8, 1918 to the late Percy Hazelwood Amick and Czarina Murray Amick. She was a graduate of Louisburg College and had worked at Burlington Mills as an administrator. She was a past member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, where she served as a volunteer. Ella enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband J. Landon Thompson. Left to cherish her memory are her son L. Carrington Thompson and wife Suzanne Gillespie-Thompson of Suffolk, VA; granddaughter Hayden E. Thompson; brother John L. Amick and wife Billie of Burlington; sister Billie Janey of Ocala, FL
