Henry Dodson Stanley

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., in Greensboro. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Stanley was born July 10, 1931 in Caswell County to the late Jimmie Dodson and Dora Bell Stanley. He retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 25 years of service and was the owner and operator of Stanley Tree Service for 41 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Florence Juanita Stanley; sisters, Mary Goodman, Lula Cobb, Bessie Mays, Sara Basham, Annie Andrews, Fannie Andrews, Margaret Somers, and Virginia Gibbs; and a brother, McBride Stanley.

Mr. Stanley is survived by his daughters, Joyce Lauder and husband Tom of High Point, Shirley Stanley of Charlotte; and Ruth Burnell and husband Joe of Brown Summit; son, Steven Stanley of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Oakley-Hughes and husband Neil of Charlotte, April Stanley of Clemmons, Angela Williams and husband Craig of Reidsville, Amanda Cannon and husband Jack of Reidsville, Christopher Stanley of Eden; great-grandchildren, Grace and Katie Williams and Jack Edward Cannon IV.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
