Herman Kyle Ireland

Herman Kyle Ireland, 82, left this life and began his journey to heaven on April 26th, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Chapel Sedgefield with Pastor’s Thomas Brown and Jeff Webster officiating and

niece, Penny Boyles, soloist. The family will receive friends and family at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park, soloist Olivia Jarrell.

Herman was born on August 4, 1928 to parents Harvey Ather and Lizzie Ashburn Ireland of Wilkes County who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Ray and Odell Ireland of Wilkes County and sister, Margaret Swaim of Jonesville.

Herman moved to Guilford County in 1950 where he and Betty married. He retired from Stout Trucking Company. He was mechanically minded and enjoyed fixing things and working on small engines for friends, neighbors, and family.

Herman is very much loved by his wife of sixty years, Betty Hager Ireland, his daughter, Carol Ireland Bates and husband Tim, his grand son Kevin Wayne Quakenbush and wife Jennifer, and his great grand daughter, Oakley Faith Quakenbush. He is also loved by his brother, Tony Ireland, (of Randleman) and three sisters, Edith Swaim, (of Liberty) Stella Staley, (of Pleasant Garden) and Peggy Flynn (of East Bend)
