Hilda Hasty Garris

Hilda Hasty Garris, 82, a resident of Kernersville, North Carolina went home to Jesus on Sunday ,September 10th, 2023. Hilda was born on May 7th, 1941 in Wadesboro, NC daughter of Jesse Dwight and Louise Hasty.

She is survived by her husband Paul Edward Garris, her daughter Renee Haxton, granddaughters, Taylor and Alexis Jordan, son-in-law Brandon Haxton, grandson Michael Haxton, brother Jackie Hasty , sister Julia Howell and many nieces and nephews.

Hilda is preceded in death by her son Paul Edward Garris and her sister Eloise Curlee.

Hilda was a role model in so many ways. She walked the walk-always espousing “no matter what -do what’s right!" She spent her entire life putting others first-even in her latter days as she battled Lewy Body Dementia when everything had been taken from her: her mind, her body, she continued to give love, laughter and encouragement to others. She was a selfless wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family but more than anything SHE LOVED JESUS and never missed a moment to remind all of us how much he loves us.

A Celebration of Life for Hilda will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC. Visitation one hour prior to service. Family request folks coming to the service to wear bright attire.
