

Mrs. Hilda Smith Tussey, 89, a resident of Greensboro died Tuesday November 23, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Tussey was born May 24, 1921 in Greensboro a daughter of Mallie Monroe and Ida Ethel Brittian Smith. She graduated third in her class from Sumner High School in 1938. She attended Kings Business College. Mrs. Tussey was retired from the IRS where she worked in the Fraud Division. She was a member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Wilson James Tussey, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Martin Smith.
Surviving are one daughter, Pamela Tussey Varney of Raleigh; one son, Jim Tussey of Randleman; one sister, Frances Smith Price and four grandchildren, Brant and Bobby Varney, Jacklyn Tussey Gourley and husband Tony and Wilson James Tussey, III.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by the Reverend Mark Sandlin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
