

Howard Franklin “Frankie” Baynes, Jr. 68 a resident of Greensboro passed away Monday evening April 6, 2015 at his residence. Frankie was born September 16, 1946 in Guilford County, the son of Howard Franklin Baynes Sr.,Betty Baynes Clark and the step son of Fred Clark of Guilford County. He attended Ben L. Smith High School from 1963 to 1965 and graduated with the Class of 1966 at Northeast Guilford High School. He received his Bachelors of Applied Science from Troy State in 1989.
Frankie served with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and after his retirement with the Air Force he worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years.
He is preceded in death by his sister Joanne Baynes McCaskill and his brother Roland Anthony Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Lynn Johnson of the home; five children, Dan Baynes and wife Lisa of Greensboro, Denise Baynes Sherwood of Greensboro, Jenny Baynes Hall and husband Danny of Indiana, Bryon T. Lowe of Greensboro, Mark E. Lowe and wife Tracy of Greensboro; 14 grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla and Thorin Baynes, Brandy, Katie, Megan and Page Sherwood, Lena and Lauren Hall, Cody and Cameron Lowe, Autumn and Brandon Burwell, Kailey Lowery and 2 great grandchildren, Ella Davis and Kallie Marie Lowe. Brothers, Robert L. Baynes, Michael Ray Baynes, David Darrell Clark and sister Debbie Baynes Allred.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Presbyterian Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. Vernon McDaniel. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Frankie’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 1205 Glenwood Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403
