Howard Russell Bundy

Mr. Howard Russell Bundy, 89 passed away Tuesday, July 08, 2014, at Brighten Gardens of Greensboro. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Friday July 11, 2014 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel with Pastor Tom Raven officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service outside the Chapel. Born in Kentucky to Herbert and Gracie Bundy, his family moved to the Ozarks of Missouri where he would eventually meet his bride, Fern Johnson Bundy. While still dating, Howard served in the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific and married Fern upon his return. A proud graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia in electrical engineering, Howard enjoyed a long career in missile guidance with Western Electric and later communications with Alcatel Lucent. He is best remembered for his selfless service to the Lord and eventually his dedication to Fern through 16 years of Alzheimer’s disease. Howard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Fern, his son and daughter in law, John and Debra Bundy and his daughter and son in law, Fara and Neil Brogden and grandsons, Paul Howard Bundy and Daniel August Bundy. His youngest brother Paul Travis Bundy lives in Burlington, NC with his wife, Sandra Burks Bundy.
