

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our father Hurley Preston Williford, 91, of Greensboro, NC. He passed on November 7, 2025 at his current home at Heritage Greens with family by his side. He was a loving father and devoted husband. Hurley passed peacefully knowing he had a full and loving life.
Hurley was born September 30, 1934 in Wake County, NC. He graduated from Angier High School in 1953 where he was voted “Most Studious” in his senior class and carried the nickname “Rooster” given to him by his father. After high school, Hurley enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea. Following the Army, Hurley spent his entire career as an installer and supervisor with the Western Electric Company which eventually became AT&T Technologies. He retired with AT&T in 1999. Hurley was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Holland Williford, parents Ira and Mary Williford, brothers Elvin Williford and Ira Williford Jr, and sister Pauline Horton.
Hurley loved people and always had a joke to tell no matter how goofy it was. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, going to the beach and even learned to shag. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He attended Gate City Baptist Church where he enjoyed Sunday sermons, men’s breakfasts and fellowship with their wonderful congregation.
He is survived by wife Billie Gauldin Williford, daughters Debbie (Don) Wrenn, Elaine (John) Greene, sister Elizabeth Grimes, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, stepchildren Beverly Stanley, Rodney (Amy) Dabbs, Richie (Aimee) Dabbs, Randy (Theresa) Dabbs, 7 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. His laugh, smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation is at Gate City Baptist Church, 5250 Hilltop Rd., Jamestown, NC 27282, Thursday November 13th at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am.Entombment will be held at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Military honors will be provided by Randolph County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Medi Home Health and Hospice at 1007 Lexington Avenue, Thomasville, NC, 27360.
