Irene O. Quate

Irene O. Quate, 79, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on July 30, 1937 in Guilford County, the daughter of Owen A. and Adre Alderman Osborne. She worked with the DTS Freight Division of Sears until her retirement. She was an active member of Glenwood Friends Meeting for over 50 years.

Irene always placed her family first and foremost. She always enjoyed any time she could be with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.

Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted Quate in 2015. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Tim Quate and wife Dacia of Julian, NC and Lynn Q. Barrow and husband Dennis of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Hunter and Nicholas; brother, Bob Osborne and wife Judy of Signal Mountain, TN and sister, Jan Harper and husband Tom of Wilmore, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 2:30 pm at Glenwood Friends with Rev. Tim Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.

The family wants to extend their gratitude to the staff and friends at Friends Home at Guilford for all the kindness and care given to their mother.
