Irma Faye Buchanan Moore, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Born on March 21, 1929 in Clarksville, VA to the late Rodwell Thomas Buchanan and Bessie Rebecca Williamson Buchanan, Irma was a faithful member of Guilford Baptist Church. Prior to her membership at Guilford Baptist, she was a long-time member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to be surrounded by children. Irma kept numerous children over the years, enjoyed baking and was known for her wonderful pound cakes. She worked the crossword puzzle in the newspaper daily and enjoyed the challenge of figuring out the puzzles. Irma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband, J. Vann Moore; and all 13 of her siblings, Mrs. Anna B. Hightower of Kenbridge, VA, Mrs. Eula B. Wallace of Kenbridge, VA, Mrs. Louise B. Ashworth of Victoria, VA, Mrs. Frank “Vera” Shockley of Petersburg, VA, Mrs. Otho “Janet” Lane of Social Circle, GA, Mrs. Geraldine Yeats of Petersburg, VA, Mrs. M. A. “Lila” Fakloury of Raleigh, NC, Thomas B. Buchanan of Kenbridge, VA, Clell O. Buchanan of Kenbridge, VA, Kirby L. Buchanan of Hopewell, VA, Mrs. Naomi B. Clark of Dundras, VA, Kenneth K. Buchanan of Kenbridge, VA and M. H. “Buck” Buchanan of Dundas, VA. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donna Lynn Moore of Ocean City, NJ and Delaine M. McCaskill (John) of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Dylan McNally and Julian Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
