

Jack Borders Jr, born on August 2, 1945, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the age of 81. After a long physical battle, he is now at rest and in the loving presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 North O’Henry Boulevard, Greensboro.
Jack was born in Greensboro on August 2, 1945 to the late Flona and Jack Borders Sr. Jack was a graduate of Grimsley High School and also a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Jack worked for McCormick.
Jack enjoyed tinkering with old cars, playing golf, wood working, fishing, yardwork, and doing projects with his brother. What Jack loved most was spending quality time with his family.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Karen Borders Holmes of Colfax, NC and son-in-law Jamie Holmes; his daughter Kristi Borders Hood of Mt. Pleasant, SC and son-in-law Jonathan Hood. One of Jack’s greatest treasures in life was being “Papa Jack” to Aliza Mei-Lin Holmes and Kylie Grace Ling Holmes. His granddaughters were one of his greatest joys! Jack is also survived by his sister, Brenda Tuttle, brother, Phil Borders, and sister, Teresa Wright.
Jack was a long time member of Westover Church in Greensboro where he used his gifts of service. For many years he served the church body by counting the children as they learned about Jesus in their Sunday school classes. He loved going from room to room counting the children and watching them sing, play and learn about Jesus. He also enjoyed attending Men’s Breakfast with his friends and serving them by washing dishes.
