Dear Betty,
It has been many years since we met. You may not remember me. I was deeply saddened by the Phoenix Society notice of Jack's passing.

I met Jack in 1955 at Arlington Hall VA. One of the unforgettable habits he had was to perch on the top of a desk while talking to you. He would be in a squatting position with his heals catching the edge of the desk. He said it made him comfortable. I always felt it was a balancing act.
I know I immediately liked him and respected his knowledge, and ability to to be a people's person.
We spent many years together on parallel careers, then Jack took off.
His career achievements certainly exceeded mine. However, he never lost his friendliness and likeability.
It has been over thirty years since we worked together. I still see a minds-eye picture of Jack perched on the edge of a desk gaining my admiration.

In 1973 I first met Jack, as a member of a team of NSA engineers assigned to the R Organization from the S Organization. Our purpose was to work together to develop  TRI-TAC secure communications. Jack was the leader of this effort and made all of us feel very welcome. He was a true gentleman while exhibiting outstanding management skills. Jack was a great inspiration to me and I will always have fond memories of him.

Dear Betty and Family,

I was a coworker of Jack's and always held him in high regard. He made significant contributions to our Nation and you should be very proud. My prayers are for Jack, you and the family.

Dear Betty and Family,

Bonnie and I are saddened at Jack's passing and wish you know that you are all in our prayers and thoughts.  We have hesitated to inform Ralph and Blanche due to their own infirmities but will do so during our Next Visit with them.  I'm sure that they will want to be remembered to you as well.  I will also take the liberty of representing Chuck, Bob, and Howard and their families as well.  Lots of memories, (All Good)of the Cleveland Family.

May God Bless you, and aid you during your grief and sorrow, as Jack is now at his side, rest assured that the parting is only relatively brief.
