Jacklin was born on January 3, 1977 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Jack Coley Watkins, Jr. and Zelma Jean Plumley. She worked for Dignity Memorial for several years and later worked at Renewal by Anderson and Saved Health. She had a vibrant light that could brighten any room she walked into. Her smile was contagious, her laugh unforgettable, and her heart was bigger than life itself. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel seen, loved, and welcome. To know Jacklin was to know kindness, warmth, and unconditional love.
She found joy in the simple things—working in her garden, dreaming up projects to make her house a home, and creating beautiful crafts. She was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved.
Above everything else, Jacklin treasured her family. Being “Gammy” was one of her greatest joys. Her grandchildren brought out the brightest smile, and every moment spent with them was precious to her. The love she gave them, and the memories she created with them, will live on forever.
Jacklin leaves behind a family and countless friends who will forever cherish her laughter, her generosity, and the way she made each person feel important. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love she poured into the lives of others will continue to shine through all of us.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zelma Jean Koury.
Surviving are her father, Jack Coley Watkins, Jr.; two daughters, Desa Crews of Alexandria, VA and Shyanne Wells of Julian, NC; two sons-in-law, Zackery Crews and Warren Poore; four sisters, Lolita Plumley of Whitsett, Tammie Medley and husband Garland of Pleasant Garden, Sandra Hege and husband Randall of Pleasant Garden, Rebekah Wakins of Gastonia; one brother, Harold "Bud" Plumley and wife Tonya of Greensboro; 3 grandchildren, Everly Poore, Roy Poore, Hugh Crews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 25th at McConnell Road Baptist Church, 3911 McConnell Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406, conducted by Pastor Nick McCorquodale. A private interment for immediate family will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that all guests depart immediately following the service to allow them to have a private ceremony.
Jacklin’s absence leaves an unimaginable void, but her legacy of love, compassion, and joy will never fade. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
