James "Jim" Bowe

James “Jim” Bowe, 77, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on April 24, 1949, in Tampa, Florida, Jim lived a life defined by faith, resilience, compassion, and a deep love for people.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Jim's greatest joy was loving others well, caring for his family, and encouraging friends through his active prayer life. He never met a stranger and was always willing to strike up a conversation, making those around him feel welcomed and valued. Whether through prayer, a kind word, or simply sitting beside someone during difficult times, Jim offered comfort, peace, and unwavering support. His sincere faith and compassionate heart left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know him.

After graduating from Chamberlain Senior High School in Tampa, Florida, Jim proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy in 1968. He served aboard the USS Boston, participating in naval gunfire support missions off the coast of Vietnam. For his honorable service, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Following his military service, Jim built a successful career that began in the manufacturing industry before transitioning into the telecommunications field, where he spent the latter part of his professional life. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Alice Bowe, and his sister, Bonnie Johnson.

He is survived by his brother, Keith Bowe, and his sister, Deborah Baldwin; his sons, Shawn Bowe and Jonathan Bowe; and his daughter, Rachele Bezik. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Isaiah Bowe, Nehemiah Bowe, Nathan Bezik, Christopher Bezik, Joshua Bowe, and Michele Garza.

Jim's legacy of faith, kindness, friendship, and service will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina. The date and time of the service will be announced by the family at a later time.
