He was born June 24, 1941, in Wilkes County, the son of Albert and Flossie Bell Bryant. James was for many years a route delivery driver for Meritta Bread before retiring. He attended the Triad Cowboy Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Nicholas “Nick” Alan McPherson.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jean Cameron Bryant; his daughter, Lori Ellen Bryant of Randleman; his granddaughter, Cameron McPherson of Randleman; his sister, Melba Jean Rumsey of Colfax and his brother, Robert “Bob” Lee Bryant of Colfax.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday November 16, 2025, at the Triad Cowboy Church 6805 Muddy Creek Rd., High Point, NC 27263 with Douglas Davis officiating.
