James Leon Edwards

Mr. James Leon Edwards, 81 a resident of Jamestown died Monday December 10, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital. Mr. Edwards was born June 2, 1931 in Guilford County, the son of Soloman David and Floy Pitts Edwards. He was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School. Mr. Edwards was retired from North State Pyrophyllite in Greensboro. He was a member of Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Irene Culler, Ruth Neal, Jeneil Feldes and four brothers, Worth, Hoyt, Lawrence and Rodney Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Barbee Edwards of the home; two sons, Stephen Randall “Randy” Edwards and wife Carolyn of Greensboro, Kenneth “Ken” Wayne Edwards and wife Charlotte of Jamestown; one brother, Ray Edwards and wife Beth of Greensboro and seven grandchildren, Corey Haase, Johnnie Perdue, Michael Edwards, Jonathan Edwards, Nikki Edwards, Kasi Edwards and Kristan Edwards.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Vance Lowe and Reverend Dan Money. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
