

Mr. James “Jim” Oliver Brannon, 79, a resident of Greensboro died Friday May 8, 2015 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Jim was born August 17, 1935 in the Spring Hope community of Nash County, the son of James Frank and Florine Bass Brannon.
He was manager of Motor Bearings and Parts (now Car Quest) in Greensboro and continued with Car-Quest until retiring after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church.
Jim was married to Margaret Rollins Brannon who preceded him in death on November 14, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alton Eugen Brannon.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice H. Fields and husband John of Greensboro, Donna H. Pugh of Archdale; five grandchildren, John Fields, Jr., Paul Fields, Jennifer F. Austin, Natalie P. Jobe, Erin P. Hardy and two great grandchildren, Johnathan Garner and Levi Fields.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Rodney Mitchell. Interment will follow n Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
