James Pickens Mallett, Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born on November 29, 1933, in Augusta, Georgia. Jim worked for 37 years at Lorillard Tobacco Company in Greensboro and retired in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Dillman and brother, Robert Dillman, both of Greensboro. He is survived by his wife, Janice Strickland Mallett; daughters, Wendy Walker of Greensboro, NC, Danine Stone and husband Chuck of Denton, NC. Vicki Delgato of Texas and Diane Woodard and husband Alan of Florida; stepson and wife, Roger and Angela Pearman of Winston Salem, NC and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. till 10:35 on Saturday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.

The family requests that In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312-9067
