James was born November 10, 1935 in Moore Co., NC, the son of James Waldo Sheppard and Virgie Forrest Sheppard.
James was a veteran of the US Air Force serving for over 10 years.
James was the owner of Mr. James Hair Designs for many years. He was a well-read person who enjoyed the privacy and solitude that came with it.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Sheppard.
Surviving are his sons, John A. Sheppard and wife Emily of Cookeville, TN and James F. Sheppard, Jr. and wife Debbi of Greensboro; grandchildren, Adam, Whitney, Caroline and Blake; great grandson, Rowan.
Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel is assisting the Sheppard family.
