

She attended St. Mary’s High School, Salem College, and graduated from UNC- Chapel Hill. Upon graduation she was an elementary school teacher in Greensboro, where she met her husband, Edwin Wolfe Pearce, Jr.
Jane was very active in her church as a vestry member, chairman of the altar guild and volunteer coordinator for Higher Ground. She found joy in arranging flowers for friends and family and for many years volunteered with Friends With Flowers, a non-profit organization that delivers fresh flowers to terminally ill patients. When she was not serving others, Jane enjoyed playing bridge with friends, cooking for her family, and cheering on her grandchildren at various sporting events.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Edwin of 64 years, son Edwin Wolfe Pearce, III and his wife Jackie of Greensboro, her daughter Polly Conley Pearce of Charlotte, and three grandchildren Ben Pearce of Greensboro, Jane Pearce of Houston and Lucy Pearce of New York City. She is also survived by her brother Dr. William S. Bradford and his wife Elise of Windemere Florida, sister-in-law Anne P. Archer of Mahopac, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2pm followed by a reception in the Haywood Duke room.
