Mrs. Jayne Oakley Beuchler, 82, was born in Guilford County on November 1, 1942, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 7, 2025. Jayne was preceded in death by her husband S. Bruce Beuchler. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Jayne moved to Charlotte, NC, where she met her “true love,” S. Bruce Beuchler. They married in Oxford, NC, in 1966. During their 48 years of marriage, they relocated several times due to his work. Still, she made lifelong friends wherever Jayne lived and actively served her community. While residing in Greensboro, NC, she worked as a realtor. She was involved in various organizations, including First Presbyterian Church, the Eastern Music Festival, the Garden Club, and the Women’s Investment Club.
Jayne will be remembered for her compassionate and loving heart, ability to mend relationships and foster acceptance, and deep love for family and friends.
She was the daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” Mitchell Oakley I and Ruth Allen Oakley. Her husband, Bruce “Pop Pop” Beuchler, predeceased her. Jayne is survived by her children: Michelle Beuchler Richards (George) of Charlotte, NC, and Jason Charles Beuchler (Lea) of Greensboro, NC. She also leaves behind her brothers, Charles Mitchell Oakley II (Betsy) and James Oakley (Judy), both of Greensboro, NC; her brother-in-law Lamarr Beuchler (Joe) of Chesapeake, VA; her sister-in-law Patricia Beuchler of Chadds Ford, PA; and her grandchildren, affectionately known as “Juju,” Davis Oakley Richards, Madison Grace Beuchler, and Charlie Catherine Beuchler. Additionally, she is survived by several nieces and nephews whom she cherished.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Well Spring Retirement Community staff and nurses for their kindness, care, and support during her time in Assisted Living and Willow Way.
A Celebration of Jayne’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 PM in the Virginia Sutton Theatre at the Well-Spring Retirement Community. There will be a reception at Betsy and Mitchell Oakley’s home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Presbyterian Church, with the memo “Jayne Oakley Beuchler,” at 617 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401, fpcgreensboro.org or to a charity of your choice.
