Jean Marie Eikey Taylor passed away on December 1, 2021 at the age of 91. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 4 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel followed by interment in Guilford Memorial Park.
Jean was born in Wheeling, WV to the late Donald and Marie Wissel Eikey. In 1949, she married Charles Taylor and they moved to NC in 1968, finally settling in Greensboro in 1971. When her children were younger, she provided a loving and Christian home, and then entered the outside workforce as a seamstress with Belk, as well as working for the American Red Cross and volunteering at Randolph Health.
Jean always had a smile for everyone and was a supportive wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an excellent cook and gardener. She was a woman of great faith and worshipped at Friendly Avenue Church of Christ for the past five years and was an active member at First Baptist Church in Asheboro.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles and Marilyn Taylor of Lexington, Linda and AJ Grogan of Greensboro and Michelle and Ritchie Morris of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jordan Morris, Leann Morris, Ginny Taylor-Troutman, Drew Taylor and Gwen Garrett; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Christopher, Owen, Greyson, Dani, Sam, Asa, Sadie, Rye, Charlie, Ashleigh, Tabbitha, TJ and Abigail; great-great-grandchildren, Waylon, Ella, Axel and Abel; and niece, Sharon Eikey. In addition to her parents and husband, her brother, Donald Eikey, preceded her in death.
