Jean M. Grondy

Jean Hartson Grondy died on Monday. June 6, 2016 at Pennybyrn at Maryfield. A native of Chicago, Ill., she moved to Greensboro in 1969. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Jean had been a resident of Pennybyrn since 2009.

Jean last worked for the Show Pros and the Greensboro News and Record. Previous to that she had retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2008; brother, John and two grandchildren, Christopher Snodgrass and Samantha Grondy. Surviving are her six children; Cathy Grondy, Dan Grondy, Margaret (Joe) Hodges, Bud (Lisa) Grondy, Frank Grondy and Fritz (Betsy) Grondy..Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; brother, Robert (Denise) Hartson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at the Chapel at Pennybyrn at Maryfield. Entombment will follow at the Columbarium at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
