Jean Irving Roach

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday July, 29, 2015, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, Greensboro NC. The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m.

Jean was born November 7, 1929 in Guilford County to the late E. J. Irving and Annie Irving. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School. She was an executive secretary for Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, LLP for 12 years and retired in 1987. She was a member of Rolling Roads Baptist Church in Greensboro. Some of her enjoyment in life was taking trips to the beach, traveling, teaching Sunday school, church activities including singing in the choir. She has always had a strong faith in God and had been a prayer warrior for so many. She loved spending time with friends and family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents she's preceded in death by her sister Doris Cox and grandson Michael David Barker.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Bobby A. Roach; sister, Anne Davis; children, David Thomas Nichols and wife Andrea Nichols, Anne Marie Cummings and husband Edward Cummings; step-daughters Patricia Parrish and husband Ray Parrish, Robin Pearson and husband Marc Pearson; grandchildren, Michael David Barker and wife Crystal Barker, Virginia Grace Holmes and husband Nathan Holmes, Keri Anderson and husband Noah Anderson, Katherine Lynn Cummings, Rachel Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Kelsey Johnson, Brad Parrish, Christina Parrish, Josh Parrish and wife Sara Parrish; and numerous great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rolling Roads Baptist Church, 2800 Vanstory Street, Greensboro, NC 27407.
