Jean Troxler Smith

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Westover Church, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Westover Church. Interment will follow at Alamance Presbyterian Church.

Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of Linwood Gray Edwards and Lola Pike Edwards. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School and attended UNC-G (Women’s College).

After college she worked at Troxler Hosiery Company where she met her husband, Robert Andrew “Andy” Troxler. They were married April 4, 1958. They had four children. She was co-owner of Troxler’s Bridal Outlet and enjoyed working with her daughter until she retired in1998. She was a member of Westover Church and served in the Communications Ministry and as a greeter.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and they have wonderful memories of their beach trips together.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andy and her brothers, Ludolph and Eddie Edwards. She is survived by three sons, Bob Troxler and wife Miriam of Broadway, NC, Eddy and wife MaryAnn of Fitchburg, MA and Clay and wife Karen of Greensboro; a daughter Nancy Early and husband David of Greensboro; three sisters, Marie Sadler of Greensboro, Kay Jones of Julian and Jerrie Edwards of Greensboro. She has six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10th from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel and at other times at the home of David and Nancy Early.
