Jean Turner Smith

After graduating from Duke University and marrying Bob Turner, she taught journalism, English and history on the secondary level in VA and NC. She supervised students in the writing of school newspapers and annuals. Jean held positions at Guilford College, The Department of Education at UNCG and Burlington Industries Corporate offices. The latter half of her life was spent in sunny Arizona where she met and married Mike Smith.

Jean is survived by her children, Bob Turner and wife Dawn of Calumet, MI and Carol Anderson of Jamestown, NC; three grandchildren, Lisa Haber and husband Kyle, Jeff Turner and Ali Turner; and great grandchild, Asa. She was preceded in death by her wonderful and loving husbands, Dr. Robert Turner and Mike Smith and her brother and his wife, Garland and Mary May.
