Jennifer Noel Farmer, 55, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 28th, 2026, 1:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Jennifer was born December 26th, 1970, Winfield, IL, the daughter of the late John Henry Scheffer, Jr. and Deborah Barr Scheffer, (now Deborah Hewett).
Jennifer was a graduate of Saint Pius X Catholic School as well as Bishop McGuiness High School. She also attended Page High School for some time. She was a homemaker for most of her years and worked briefly in the past at a bakery helping family. She was fierce for her family and took immense pride and joy in her daughters and grandchildren. They are her proudest accomplishment here on earth, and she spent her time pouring her love and concern into their lives.
In her more mobile years, she enjoyed shopping, socializing and getting with friends to go have lunch or share time together. She and Todd loved to spend time at concerts, drag racing, watching their favorite programs, and venturing out for something new. Her passion for all things Winnie the Pooh is evident with her collection of items, in addition to her collection of angel figurines. She was always willing to try something new even if it was short lived, like when she attempted to learn how to knit. In her later less mobile years, she continued to give of her generous heart, through her nonjudgmental and compassionate nature for others.
Jennifer’s greatest asset was being a true, honest, and present friend. She was always willing to offer help or information that would be resourceful to others. This determination to see to it that those around her were cared for demonstrated her pure heart to all. She loved to talk and share her witty spirit with others throughout their trials and celebrated triumphs. Resilience, despite the circumstances, allowed her to persevere through life while carrying a lighthearted, genuine, and humorous attitude. This proved to be her most beautiful characteristic.
In addition to her father, Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Scheffer III; grandparents, John Henry Scheffer Sr. and wife Rita; Robert Howard Barr and wife Eva Verneal; many beloved aunts and uncles; stepson, Brandon Watkins; and grandson, Cash Whitaker.
Those surviving to cherish her memory are her life partner of 28 years, Todd Richardson of Greensboro; her daughters, Noelle Cervantes of Greensboro; Jamie Farmer (Michael) of Greensboro; Codi Farmer of Greensboro; stepdaughter, Nikki Richardson (Michael) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Jada, Kayden, Eli, M.J., David, Samantha, Olivia and Zach; her mother, Deborah Hewett (James) of Germanton; sister, Kristen Krecek (Dan) of High Point; brother, Benjamin Scheffer of Greensboro; stepsisters, Amber Booth (Paul) of Pilot Mtn.; Amy Hewett (Michael) of Kernersville; April Pope (Jeremy) of Kernersville, nieces and nephews, Hayleigh, Ethan, Eva, Carolina and Ivan; and numerous other cousins, friends and family.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401.
