Jerri Lynn Cox Roberson

It is with great sorrow that we announce that on February 1 our wonderful Jerri Lynn Cox Roberson, has gone home to be with her lord and savior. She was born on March 2, 1949 in Greensboro, NC to Willie “Bill” Martin Cox and Sarah Geraldine Priddy Cox. She was a graduate of the Class of ‘68 at Northeast Guilford High School.

She married William “Bill” Roberson in June of 1968. They were married for 56 wonderful years. Even though they didn’t have children themselves they treated their nieces and nephews as their own.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Willie and Geraldine Cox, her brother Charlie F Cox, Sister-in-law Shelby J. Small, nephew Joseph Thomas (Tommy) Small and niece Brenna Ann Cox-Capps.

She leaves behind her husband William “Bill” Roberson, brother Danny (Diane) Cox, sisters-in-law Denise R. Cox, Robin Wyatt Cox. Nieces and nephews Angela “Angie” (Brian) Scarafino, Jeremy (Cheri) Small, Sarah (Bryan) Crumby, Catherine “Cathie” (Larry) Roberts, Martin (Samantha) Cox, Travis (Kelly) Cox. With a host of great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Jerri loved to do crafts and mess in flower beds. She loved to put together silk flower arrangements and wreaths. She loved her church family. She loved working within the church on several of their committees, the one she was most passionate about was the food pantry that served the community.

She retired from the Greensboro Fire Department in March 2011 and leaves behind a lot of good friends.
