Jerry Bernard Scott, 80, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. He was born in Greensboro, the son of Thomas Clay and Gladys White Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Virginia Scott Foreman and his brother, Thomas Clay “T.C.” Scott, Jr.
Jerry was born and raised in Greensboro and was a member of the first graduating class of Page High School and an Army Veteran. He was a folding carton designer in Chicago and Greensboro for over 40 years and won numerous awards including several patents for his designs. Jerry loved watching old Western movies and sports, especially The Chicago Bears. Jerry could be seen on nice days cruisin around town in his Lil Rag Top listening to the The Beach Boys more than likely headed to Yum Yum for a couple of hot dogs and a Cheerwine.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Scott and his sons, Chris Scott and Kevin Scott, both of Greensboro.
There will be a Celebration of Life of on Tuesday June 25th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. The Family requests attendees wear their favorite sports teams apparel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jerry’s memory to The Guilford County Animal Shelter or Happy Hills Animal Foundation.
