A funeral service to celebrate Jewell’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, 4800 West Friendly Avenue with Dr. Daniel Dickard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jewell was born September 16, 1928, in Folkston, Georgia, daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Ellen Altman Prevatt. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister; Jewell served her family well and will be remembered for always praying for her family and giving loving support throughout their lives. She was loved and will be missed by all her knew her.
In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Roberts and her sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia Roberts Holder and husband, Jim, Brenda Carmichael and husband, Jim, Byron Haddock and wife, Lori; grandchildren, David, Samuel, Stephen, and John Holder, Trip and Brandon Carmichael, Ben and Kate Haddock; great-grandchildren, Natasha and Cedric Holder and her sister, Joellen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 4800 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410.
