

Mr. James “Jim” Pifer Crigler, 88, a resident of Greensboro died Sunday May 8, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mr. Crigler was born March 6, 1923 in Elemore, WV a son of Robert and Grace Delieah Blewitt Crigler. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years. Mr. Crigler retired in 1968 from the Chevrolet Mfg. Plant in Cleveland, OH. From 1968 until 1985 he was self-employed in the construction industry. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Jim was married on September 7, 1947 to the former Shirley Jean Davis who preceded him in death in September of 1989. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Edward Crigler; two grandchildren; his sisters, Margaret Wentz, Kathleen Webster and his brothers, Francis Paul Crigler, Elliott Ray Crigler and Robert Crigler.
Surviving are six sons, Steve Crigler and wife Sharon of Kernersville, Wayne Crigler and wife Vickie of High Point, Rodney Crigler of TX, Timothy Crigler and wife Totie of KY, Mark Crigler and wife Lisa of Thomasville, Michael Crigler and wife Debbie of Siler City; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory Chapel conducted by the Reverend Reggie Rakes and Pastor John DeVine III officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m.until service time.
