

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. Michael Owens officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
Born August 29, 1948 in New York City, Jimille was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Gate City Baptist Church. She graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, with a Master’s Degree in music. Jimille loved music, was an accomplished Cellist, and taught piano for years. In 1981, Jimille was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and graciously fought the disease for 32 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Jimille was preceded in death by her father, James Shorter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 42 years, Xavier Beard of the home; daughter, Shelly Beard of Clemmons; mother, Mildred Williamson of High Point; and an aunt, Charlotte Robins of Clemmons.
