
Joan Falk Isaacson was born August 21, 1931 in Wilmington, NC, daughter of Nathan Jacobi and Hulda Oppenheimer Jacobi. She attended North Carolina Women’s College, now UNC-G. She married Herbert S. Falk, Jr., on June 11, 1954, who predeceased her on July 20, 2002. Fortunate to find love a second time, she married Irving Isaacson on September 14, 2003. Long active in the Greensboro community, she held leadership positions with the Fisher Park Program, Temple Emmanuel, Weatherspoon Art Gallery, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro and UNC-G. She was a passionate bridge player, and member of the Friday Afternoon Club and Wednesday Literary Club.
She is survived by her husband Irving Isaacson of Greensboro, NC, sons Herbert Falk III of Troy, MI, Robert Falk, of Washington, DC and Richard Falk of Coppell, TX, and grandchildren Daniel and Andrew Falk of Michigan and Nikki and Grant Falk of Coppell, TX.
The service will be officiated by Rabbi Andy Koren on Tuesday, 3PM at Temple Emanuel (Historical Campus) located at 713 North Greene St, Greensboro, NC, with burial at the Hebrew Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will be receiving friends at Temple Emanuel, 713 North Greene St, at approximately 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions go to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
