Joann Vernon Tedder, 86, a resident of High Point and a former resident of Colfax passed away on Tuesday September 1, 2026. She was born May 13, 1940, in Rockingham County, the daughter of the late Ezra Norman and Mattie Rae Moore Vernon.
Joann was married to Max Spencer Tedder who preceded her in death on November 6, 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Nadine Tedder Townsend and her husband Thomas Townsend of High Point; her sons, Max Spencer Tedder, Jr. of Greensboro, David Alan Tedder and wife Amy of Southport; her sister, Becky Vernon Gibson; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 5, 2026, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Nick Gerringer. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
