My name was, Joanne Ragland Johnson Harrelson, age 84. I passed to my Heavenly Father on March 30, 2024. Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, I also resided in Hubert, NC, but lived in Greensboro NC for most of my life. God richly blessed me with three wonderful children; Michelle Johnson Moore, Larry Neil Johnson (Debbie), and Luanne Johnson Martin (Jimmy), all residing in Greensboro. I so enjoyed watching them as they grew into loving, fine adults. God continued to bless me with four grandchildren; Stephanie Johnson, Alixe Johnson Wilson, Patrick Harold Casten and Marshall Martin; also five great- grandchildren; Shepherd, Josephine and Sullivan Johnson; Jonah and Samuel Wilson. These descendants were at the core of my life and heart.
I attended many churches in my lifetime and was thankful for my Christian faith.
I was the wife of the late Harold E. Johnson, for 38 years. The wife of the late Billy Joe Harrelson for 13 years. I have lived from the NC Mountains, to the coast, and in between and never wanted to live anywhere but in North Carolina, my beautiful state.
I was just a simple person, enjoying my children and their young friends, loving to watch their activities and watch them grow into fine adults. There would be too many young folks to name, but you know who you are. You were mine, and my husband Harold’s, extended family.
I loved to garden, make crafts, go to yard sales and loved all of the pets that I ever had. I used to work, along with my first husband at the local fairs, Christmas parades, festivals and flea markets. We used to have so much fun. God was so good to us, and we made many friends along the way.
There was never anything outstanding about me, but I was here, on this beautiful earth, and I was always grateful for what God intended for me to have.
Please, for those of you who knew me, thank you for being part of my life and just remember me from time to time~
Be always thankful for what God has given you.
There will be a graveside service held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
