John S. “Jack” Robinson Jr., 71, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Jack was born on Aug. 1, 1942, the son of John S. and Jaye Valery Robinson Sr. in Lockport, NY. He graduated with the class of 1963 from the University of Massachusetts. He then served his county in the US Navy. Jack was the owner and operator of Greensboro Office Supply. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Elks. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty C. Robinson; daughters, Kristin Robinson and husband Joe Vasconcelos of Kernersville, NC, Mary Anne Blakely and husband Tim of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Robinson, T.J. Blakely, Tucker Blakely, Tyler Blakely; great grandchildren, Nathan Ellison and Bo Blakely; sister, Toni Frahm and husband Barry of Myrtle Beach, SC and brother, Terry William Robinson and wife Linda of Amherst, NH. A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 1311 South Eugene St., Greensboro, NC 27406 or Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 W. Lee Street, Greensboro, NC 27406 or Greensboro United Way, 1500 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. I talked to Jack at least once a week through my work. He was the nicest, kindest, man. He always made me smile. He always made time to ask about my personal life.
