Johnny was born on July 19, 1940 in Surry County, the son of James Chester and Gladys Simmons Bowman. He worked with the CGR Products Company until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching TV with his favorites being westerns. He loved family gatherings and time he could spend with his family. He will be deeply missed by all.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn of the home; children, Lynn Skinner and wife Deborah of High Point, NC, Terri Anthony and husband Larry of High Point, NC, Timothy Bowman and wife LeAnn of Lexington, NC, Joanie Lederer of Madison, NC; grandchildren: Valerie Presnell, Jonathan, Josh and Justin Schroll and great grandchild, Jackson Bullard; two sisters, Linda Bowman Nelson and husband Jim of Kernersville, NC and Nancy Bowman Newsome of Winston Salem, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan 4th, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
