

Jonathan David Thacker, age 38 of Greensboro, NC went to his heavenly home on Friday March 29th, 2019. Jonathan was born in Alamance County on September 30th, 1980 to the Rev. Frank and Mrs. Brenda B. Thacker and was a 2000 graduate of River Mill Academy in Burlington, NC.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Troy Franklin Thacker Sr. and Mary Catherine Thacker: grandfather, James Eugene Bearden and aunt Brenda (Bren) Thacker.
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents are his loving wife of 15 years, Angie Blackburn Thacker: grandmother, Ellen Bearden: sister, Rebekah Thacker Boyd: two very special nieces whom he adored, Avaleigh and Lilly and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and extended family members.
Jonathan loved spending his time with Angie and their fur baby "Rockie" and loved doing anything outside. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing at the coast with his dad and other family and friends. While still able to work Jonathan was employed by Honda Jet and they became like a second family to him. He had a passion for anything dealing with airplanes and working on them. So much so that he was inspired to take a flying lesson of his own in which he piloted a Liberty XL2. Jonathan loved his motorcycles and boats and all types of sports and was a die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Greensboro Kidney Center and Moses Cone Hospital and their Palliative Care Team for the compassionate care given to Jonathan and the family.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday April 6th at Harmony Baptist Church located at 873 NC HWY 22S, Ramseur, NC 27316 with a visitation period at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Triad Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
