Joseph Weldon Laughlin Sr.

Mr. Joseph “Joe” Weldon Laughlin, Sr., 73, a resident of Archdale and former resident of Greensboro died Monday evening April 8, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Laughlin was born July 13, 1939 in Guilford Co., the son of Millard and Mary Alice Taylor Laughlin. He was a graduate of Bessemer High School in Greensboro. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and was employed as a auto technician for several dealerships in the Greensboro area for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Millard “Jackie” Laughlin, Jr. On May 24, 1958 he was married to the former Audrey Gales who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Bond and husband Phillip of Archdale; one son, Joseph Weldon Laughlin, Jr. of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Samantha “Sam” Bond, Casey Reece and one great grandchild, Mason Reece. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park with military honors given by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
