Joseph Joe Wood Pearce

GREENSBORO: Mr. Joseph “Joe” Pearce, 94, of Greensboro, passed from this life on March 6, 2011 at WhiteStone in Greensboro.

A funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Bill Ellison. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Pearce was born in Greensboro to the late Arthur Bascom Pearce, Sr. and Laura Newlin Pearce.

He was a life long member of West Market St. UMC... In his teens, Joe and the family moved to Salisbury. After high school, he graduated from Catawba College and returned to Greensboro to work for Shell Oil Company until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Illa Roberts Pearce; his older brother, Arthur Bascom Pearce, Jr. and his sister Katherine Pearce Carrier.

Those left to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews and loyal friends.
