Juanita Ruth Roberson, 91, a resident of Greensboro died Saturday August 17, 2013. Ruth had a long career in retail sales, first in her home state of North Carolina, then at Macy’s in Las Vegas, NV where she moved in 1981. She retired in 2001 at the age of 80 and returned to Greensboro. Ruth began a second career as a caregiver for the Home Instead Senior Care in Greensboro. She was recognized as the 2003 Caregiver of the Year for Home Instead Senior Care in Greensboro. Ruth was featured in an article in the 2004 AARP Magazine when records showed that many of the clients she cared for were younger than she.
Ruth will be missed by family, friends and many whose lives she touched.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Zane G. Roberson, a police officer and her daughter, H. Susan Roberson. She is survived by her niece, Julianne (James) Monoyudis of Las Vegas, NV; grandnephew, Louis Monoyudis of New York City; nephew, Kenneth Roberson of Jamaica, VA and her best friends, Nadine Buchanan of Greensboro and Terri Buchanan of Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel with interment to follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
