June was born on June 9, 1934 to the late John Monroe and Rosa Moffitt Barnes of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Norman M Pugh, Junius C Ratcliffe & Robert L Owens. She was also preceded in death by six siblings, John Monroe “Jack” Barnes, II, Martha B Williamson, James “Jim” N Barnes, Nell B Howerton, Ruth “Bookie” B Ring & Rose B Knight. Survivors include her two children Lynn P Faw (Arnold) of Danville, VA and David M Pugh (Pam) of Efland, NC; four grandchildren, Michael Thames (Anita), Daniel Thames (Dana), Amanda Patnaud (Will) & Amie Pugh; and seven great-grandchildren, Stewart, Henry & Callie Patnaud and Isaac, Sydney, Titus & Abigail Thames. June is also survived by two sisters, Mildred B Hedrick & Rebecca “Becky” B Archer, both of Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, June 11, 2017, at New Garden Friends Cemetery, 801 New Garden Rd, in Greensboro with Rev. Gray Clark of Presbyterian Church of the Cross officiating.
