Kathleen was born in Hendersonville, NC in 1916. She was a member of Moriah UMC for more than forty years where she participated in the UMC women’s circle and was involved in various church activities. She was a woman of great faith which she exhibited in her daily life. She was married to Jack Marshall Patton for more than 55 wonderful years until his death in 2000. She and Jack were involved and loving parents to two sons and loved to spend time at the beach fishing off the piers. She was an independent quick-witted woman who was a loyal friend and enjoyed the company of others, especially family gatherings. For many years she lived next door to the grandchildren and as with most grandmothers she loved having them to her home. Baking, gardening and canning were her specialties and she was generous to friends and neighbors with the bounty. Kathleen was a wonderful homemaker and also worked at Made-Rite Sandwich Co. and Burlington Industries.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons and their spouses, David and Patsy Patton of Belew’s Creek and Larry and Theresa Patton of Goodview, VA; half-brothers, Roger and Douglas Smith both of High Point; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
