Ken Sheetz Anderson, Jr., age 76, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 10. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally van Noppen Anderson, sons, Leonard Hampton Anderson of Santa Monica, CA, Ken Sheetz Anderson III of Greensboro, NC, and David Charles Anderson (Ashley) of Greensboro, NC, two grandsons, Luke and Michael, sister, Paula Harder (Alan) of McLeansville, NC, nephew, Jay Harder of Greensboro, NC, cousin, Gary Anderson (Linda) of Greensboro, NC, and sister-in-law, Pepper van Noppen of Washington, DC.
Ken graduated from Curry High School at UNC-Greensboro. He attended Greensboro College and finished in three years, majoring in economics and minoring in French. He did his post graduate masters studies at Boston University before working briefly for Procter and Gamble. Ken began his career at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, advising clients and friends on investments for more than fifty years. Ken was a Life Master bridge player, a passion that developed at a young age. He started playing duplicate bridge at age 17 and was renowned for his ability. He was an advocate for charitable causes in Greensboro, serving on the board at Urban Ministry and supporting BackPack Beginnings. He loved playing golf and tennis, was an avid reader, world traveler, and he cherished his family.
A service of remembrance will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on Tuesday, March 13th at 1:00 pm with a reception following.
