Kenneth Laharold Bettis

Kenneth Laharold Bettis moved from New York and relocated to Raeford NC then Fayetteville for years then settled in Greensboro, North Carolina NC, with his family. He was born in Manilla, Alabama, on October 5, 1963, to the late William McKinley Moorer and Emily Louise Bettis Washington. He was raised in Westbury, New York, where he attended and graduated from Westbury Senior High School. Kenneth excelled in sports, playing basketball and football, and came close to making it to the professional level. He was very funny with stories and skits. He was also a steel worker for many years.

Kenneth prioritized family and harmony, always advocating for unity among loved ones. He was a peacemaker, known for his smile and positive outlook on life. A member of Hope New Zion under Pastor Carolyn Moore He later joined the military and served in the Army. Kenneth was also recognized for his many creative inventions.

Kenneth passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at UNC Health Blue Ridge Hospital. After dedicating his life to Jesus, he was prepared and ready to meet his Savior.

Kenneth is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Emily Bettis Washington; his daughter, Pavielle Jimenez Gallejos (Husband Victor Ariel Creyente Morales). and his cherished grandchildren: Anngela Augustina Sanchez, Yolanna Kapriz Sanchez, Deandre Ann Marie Jimenez Gallegos, and He is also survived by his brothers, Torry Moorer (wife: Elizabeth) and Kevin Moorer (wife: Danyelle), and his sisters, Anita Ann Washington Rice (husband: Timothy Steven Rice) and Jennifer Moorer. He leaves behind his niece, Damia Riggins Washington, and nephews (Von) McCrimmon, Jordan Moorer, Gabriel Moorer, and Isaac Moorer, along with a host of aunts, cousins, and friends. Kenneth leaves his wife, Tonya Tony Bettis, of North Carolina.

Kenneth will be honored at a Funeral Service on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, North Carolina 27455.
