Mr. Kenneth Ken R. McCorkle

Ken McCorkle, 58, went home to be with his Lord on January 14, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. McCorkle was born in Mecklenburg County to Herman McCorkle and Onie Lee Deaton. He was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. He was the Quality Assurance Manager for Intertect Corp. and joint owner of Flowers in Harmony by Gayle. He graduated from Elon University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Mr. McCorkle was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and a devoted Christian. He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Gayle Campbell McCorkle of Climax, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Sims McCorkle of Raleigh, NC; brother, Don McCorkle of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Lyndia Bailey of Rock Hill, SC; and brother, Robert McCorkle of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are his beloved step-daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Marc Nelson of Pleasant Garden, NC; and step-son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kim Sisk of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Carson and Sara B. McCorkle; Heather and Caden Sisk; and Dakota and Callie Nelson. Mr. McCorkle was preceded in death by his parents; and four other grandchildren, Dylan Jared (D.J.); Faith Gale; William Ray; and Kelly Lynn Nelson. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
