Beloved husband, father, and papaw, Kenneth Paul McEntire Jr, (Ken), passed away at the age of 76 on January 23, 2025, at Beacon Place Hospice Center in Greensboro, NC after a tough battle with advanced heart and kidney disease. Ken married the love of his life, Clair McEntire, in 1967, at age 19. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
Ken lived most of his life in Cleveland County, NC and was a member of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina. He and Claire moved to Whitsett, NC to be closer to their daughter and son four years ago. Ken loved nothing more than playing games and cards with his wife, children, and granddaughters.
Ken was born on May 31, 1948, and was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lallage McEntire. He was also preceded in death by his cherished son, Kenneth (Kenny) McEntire III. He is survived by his wife, Clair McEntire of Whitsett, NC, his daughter and son-in-law, Tina McEntire and Michael Getz of Greensboro, NC, his two beautiful granddaughters, Emily Mason and Isabella Mason, and his sisters, Hilda Hiott, and Inez McEntire of Shelby, NC. He is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters in law, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He has two surviving fur babies, Dolly and Roxy, who were spoiled and loved by him daily.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-12:45 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with a memorial service following at 1:00 pm at Ken’s church home, Christian Bible Fellowship, 1290 Springwood Church Rd, Gibsonville, NC.
