Mr. Lamar Everette Coward, Jr., 74, a resident of Greensboro passed away at his residence on Sunday September 23, 2018. He was born October 15, 1943 in Albemarle, the son of Lamar Everette Coward Sr. and Annie Octavia McRorie Coward.
Lamar was a graduate of Allen Jay High School and attended Western Carolina University and John Wesley College. He was sales representative for church furniture for many years and then owned and operated an upholstering company for 23 years. He then worked for seven years as a medical courier for Walker Express in Greensboro. Lamar was a member of South Elm Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his wife Bobbie Jo Davis Coward of the home; daughter, Elaine C. Morgan and husband Jeff of Greensboro; son, Stephen Coward of Greensboro; his mother, Octavia “Toby” Coward of Greensboro; sisters, Toby Ann C. Boles and husband Wayne of Southport, Sheila C. Grey and husband David of Davidson, Cindy C. Smith of Greensboro; brother, Andrew Norman Coward and wife Susan of Climax and grandchildren, Joseph and Emily Morgan.
Graveside services to celebrate Lamar's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Dr. Lawrence Clapp.
